If you're looking to hear some good music this weekend, look no further than Joyful Noise: A Gospel Celebration at Patriot Hall, 135 Haynsworth St. This first-time event, sponsored by Community Broadcasters and McLaughlin Ford, will be held on Saturday at 6 p.m.

Seven regional choirs and gospel groups will be competing to win the title of Joyful Noise Choir of the Year 2019 and a $1,000 cash prize.

"The choir director of Francis Marion University, Jeffrey Lampkin, will be our emcee," Community Broadcasters senior account executive Christy Richardson said. "He was featured on Good Morning America last year (along with) the Young, Gifted and Blessed (YGB) Choir (which will perform Saturday night)."

Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door and are available at Sumter Cut Rate, Imports Limited, Patriot Hall and Community Broadcasters.
