CHRISTOPHER ROBERT BROWN

Posted

Chris Brown, 45, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, at his residence after a difficult battle with a rare blood disease.

Born in Wiesbaden, Germany, Chris was a son of Robert "Bob" and Barbara Brown. Growing up as a military (U.S. Air Force) dependent, Chris was blessed with travel experiences and the Department of Defense (DOD) school system. While living in Germany, Florida and England, Chris developed his love for history. Although Chris knew English history quite well, he eventually focused on the Civil War. While a student at Sumter High School, he was able to participate in a class trip to Berlin just prior to the fall of the Berlin Wall. As an early teen, Chris was glued to the news channel when the wall did fall. Chris graduated from Sumter High in 1991, attended USC Sumter for two years and completed his Baccalaureate in History at Francis Marion University. Chris had more than 20 years of food service and autistic care management but was currently pursuing a history teaching certification, which was his first love.

Besides his parents, Chris is survived by his brother, Charles (Noriko) of Washington state; nephew, Zaviar of Washington state; niece, Seika of Washington state; aunt, Barbara Brown of Arizona; uncle, Frank Hirschvogel (Cathy) of Missouri; dear cousins of California and Arizona; and many close friends.
