- Saturday, May 4 - A free yard sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Clothing, shoes, household items and furniture will be available.

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 325 W. Fulton St., announces:

- Saturday-Sunday, April 27-28 - Family and Friends Weekend will be observed. Saturday's events will begin at 9 a.m. with a workshop led by the Rev. Dr. LaVelle McCray, pastor of Rocky Mount MBC, Greenville, followed by fun and games for all ages including a Greek Scroll by fraternities and sororities from Morris College and a cookout on the church grounds. On Sunday, worship celebration will be held at 10:45 a.m.

- Saturday, April 27 - The "Ragin Merrick for Bishop" Campaign Committee is sponsoring a Gospel Concert of Praise and Worship at 3 p.m. The event will feature the Rev. H.E. - Saturday, May 11, 2024 - The group will meet from 10 a.m. to noon. Angela Kgosana, a South Carolina native and co-founder of The Awakening Movement, a para-church ministry based in Darlington, will speak. In over 20 years of ministry, Angela and her husband, Ally, have served God in various leadership capacities and shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ in South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland and the United States. God has used them to pioneer university campus ministries, organize youth conferences in the townships of South Africa and the United States. Ally and Angela are pastors of Unity Christian Church, Alcolu. Praise and worship will be led by The McKoy Family Band. Admission is free. A love offering will be received. Light refreshments included. Doors open at 9:45 a.m. A pre-service prayer is available for those needing prayer and ministry.
