Clarence O. Hair Sr., 76, beloved husband of 60 years to Betsy Hair, died on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at St. Francis Hospital in Charleston.

Born on July 31, 1945, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Cole B. Hair Sr. and Marie Scott Hair. He was an active member of Crosswell Baptist Church. He loved God, his wife, his family and his church. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved racing, hunting and fishing. He was a lifetime member of Elks Lodge 855 and retired from Campbell Soup Co.

Survivors include his sweetheart forever, Betsy; two sons, Clarence O. Hair Jr. (Bernadette) of Sumter and John Richard "Ricky" Hair (Julie) of Pinewood; son-in-law, Reggie Hopkins of Sumter; grandchildren, Val Hair of Tennessee, Matthew Hair (Marquita) of Tennessee, Nathan Hair (fiancée, Ashley) of Clemson, Angelina Hair and Isabella Hair of Sumter; great-grandchildren, Piper Scott Hair of Tennessee, Danielle and Mariah, both of Colorado, and Cassandra of Tennessee; and sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Hair of Sumter.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Hair Hopkins; a grandson, Patrick Goins; a great-grandson; and two brothers, Tommy Hair and C.B. Hair Jr.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Charles Owens officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery. Those attending are asked to observe COVID-19 restrictions.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
