Clarendon briefs for May 21, 2021: Heart walks, library summer crafts and Vacation Bible School

Virtual Heart Walk is on May 22

The American Heart Association is hosting the 2021 Sumter Clarendon Virtual Heart Walk on May 22.

The AHA is encouraging everyone to walk where they are, in their neighborhoods, at their church, in a park and with their friends and families.

Free Crafts at Library beginning June 1

MANNING - The Harvin Clarendon County Library, 215 N. Brooks St., will have fun, entertaining and informative crafts for children throughout the summer.

The first "Craft Pick Up for Children" will be held from 10 a.m. June 1 through 5 p.m. June 4. The free craft will feature a 3-D foam safari animal.

From 10 a.m. June 7 through 5 p.m. June 11, the library will offer a free "Craft Pick Up for Children" featuring a farm animal fact notebook. From 10 a.m. June 14 through 5 p.m. June 18, the library will offer a free "Craft Pick Up for Children" featuring a hedgehog handprint.

Summerton Baptist Church VBS June 6

SUMMERTON - Summerton Baptist Church, 215 Main St., will be hosting its Vacation Bible School from June 6 through June 10.

This year's VBS will explore Mystery Island to uncover some of God's many attributes.

The VBS is for children between the ages of K4 and 6th grade. Registration is required.
