Harvin Clarendon County Library closed for Veterans Day

MANNING - The Harvin Clarendon County Library, 215 N. Brooks St., will be closed Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day. The library will reopen at 9 a.m. Nov. 12.

Advance Auto Parts hosts "Supporting the Blue"

MANNING - Advance Auto Parts, 602 S. Mill St., will be "Supporting the Blue" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 16. The Clarendon County Sheriff's Office, Manning Police Department, South Carolina Highway Patrol and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources will have displays with officers on hand meeting the public. All attendees will be able to enjoy grilled hamburgers and hotdogs.

Advance Auto will also be accepting nonperishable food items that will be delivered to Turbeville Children's Home for Thanksgiving. The store will accept items during normal business hours.

20th Anniversary Wyboo Golf Club Tournament on Nov. 16

MANNING - The 20th Anniversary Wyboo Golf Club Tournament in support of the Clarendon County Junior Golf Program will tee off at 10 a.m. Nov. 16. The tournament will be a three-man Captain's Choice format with a combined team handicap of 30. The first 24 teams to sign up will hit the course.

The entry fee is $210 per team and will include two mulligans per man, golf, golf cart, range balls, a pig pickin' after play, beverages and prizes. Prizes will also be given to the closest to the pin for men and women. More than $4,000 in cash prizes and gift certificates will be awarded.

Clarendon County Ministerial Alliance Banquet on Nov. 16

MANNING - The Clarendon County Ministerial Alliance will hold its annual banquet at 6 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Manning Junior High School gymnasium, 1101 W.L. Hamilton Road.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased from any member of the alliance. One of this year's honorees will be Deputy First Class Annett Smith with the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office for her work with the Clarendon County Cancer OverComers organization. Several other individuals from across the county will also be honored for their work for the people in Clarendon County.

E-waste event is rescheduled for Nov. 16 for residents

MANNING - Clarendon County will offer an E-Waste Recycling Collection Event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Administration Building, 411 Sunset Drive, for Clarendon County residents only. Shred-with-Us will be on site to shred important documents free of charge.

Items that will not be accepted include refrigerators, washing machines, clothes dryers, dishwashers, mercury-containing devices (i.e. thermometers and fire alarms), hazardous waste chemicals, light bulbs, fluorescent tubes and bio waste.

Clarendon County Pilot Club Annual Bazaar on Nov. 26

MANNING - The Clarendon County Pilot Club will host its annual bazaar from 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 26 at the Presbyterian Church in Manning, 233 N. Brooks St.

This is the time to pick up all those holiday goodies, including flaky homemade biscuits, casseroles, pies, cakes, cookies and other delicious treats. Be early or you might miss out. All proceeds from the bazaar will go toward five scholarships that the club awards to the area's five high schools.
