Literary Brunch with CSD1 superintendent

SUMMERTON - Clarendon School District One is presenting its Literary Brunch with the Superintendent from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. April 3 in the Clarendon One Community Resource Center cafeteria, 1154 Fourth St.

Green Hill Missionary Revival set for April 1-3

ALCOLU - Green Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 1260 Green Hill Church Road, and its pastor, the Rev. Delbert H. Singleton Jr., will host three-day revival at 7 p.m. April 1-3. The guest speaker will be Pastor Mike DeCosta from Clarendon Baptist Church.

This Means War One Night Revival is April 5

MANNING - Rawar Women's Ministry is inviting the public to This Means War One Night Revival at 7 p.m. April 5 at Manning Elementary School gymnasium, 311 W. Boyce St. The gym is on Gerald Avenue. The revivalist will be Bishop Floyd Knowlin from Georgetown. Special guests are Jeffrey Lampkin and the Francis Marion University YGB Gospel Choir. Participants are asked to dress casual. Blessing of animals planned for April 13

SUMMERTON - The Town of Summerton 4 MAIN and A Second Chance Animal Shelter will host Blessing of Animals from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 13 at 4 MAIN, 4 Main St. All animals are welcome to this free event that will include music, light refreshments, pet supplies, food truck, professional photography and more. The Very Rev. John Burwell, rector of The Church of the Redeemer in Orangeburg, will preside over the ceremony.

Cancer OverComers Walk is May 4 at park

MANNING - The 1st Clarendon County Cancer OverComers Walk will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at J.C. Britton Park, 3057 Raccoon Road, on May 4.

The event is being presented by the Clarendon County Cancer OverComers and the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office.

The event will feature an OverComers' Walk, a luminary celebration and lots of free food, fun, games and music.

Let's Walk Together T-shirts will be on sale beginning in March featuring sizes youth through XXXXL. Youth sizes through adult size XL will cost $15 with larger sizes costing slightly more.

Sponsorship signs for placement around the track are available for $100 each, and luminaries are available for $10. Corporate sponsorships for the back of the walk and OverComers' T-shirts are available.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to Clarendon County Community Complex, 10 Maple St., behind Weldon Auditorium.

Puddin' Swamp Festival will be April 11-13

TURBEVILLE - The 12th-Annual Puddin' Swamp Festival will kick off on April 11 with the Taste of Puddin' Swamp and amusement rides on the town square. Amusement rides will also be open on Friday evening, and the full day of festivities will begin at 9 a.m. on April 13 with food and craft vendors, dancers, gospel singers, a cornhole tournament and the very popular Miss Swamp Bottom Beauty Contest at 5 p.m. with all proceeds going to the Shriners. Miss Striped Bass Festival Pageant March 30

MANNING - The 40th-annual Striped Bass Festival will hold its opening ceremonies on April 26 followed by Super Saturday on April 27.

The Miss Striped Bass Festival Pageant will be held on March 30, and the Santee-Cooper Open Team Tournament presented by Santee Automotive is planned for April 20.

Women's Health Dinner and Discussion

MANNING - McLeod Health is hosting a dinner and discussion about Women's Health from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 25 at Central Carolina Technical College F.E. DuBose Campus, 3351 Sumter Highway.

Free physical breast exams will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. The dinner and discussion will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Registration is required because of limited space. RSVP to McLeod Reservations and Scheduling at (843) 777-2005.

Housing Seminar set for May 11

Persons interested in home ownership are encouraged to attend the free Housing Seminar from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 11, at The Council on Aging, 206 S. Church St. The workshop is sponsored by the Clarendon County CDC Housing packager, Pamela-Clavon Brunson, who will share valuable information concerning ownership even if you have credit challenges or other issues.
