Swamp Fox and Sacred Grounds set for Oct. 9
MANNING - Swamp Fox and Sacred Grounds "Clarendon County's Legacy Lives On" will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9.
This unique heritage event highlights legendary Revolutionary War hero Francis Marion and explores the sacred history of the Santee Indian Mound and Fort Watson site.
Tickets for the lunch are $20. Take a blanket to sit on for the picnic lunch and wear or pack bug repellent. There are no restroom facilities at the Fort Watson/Santee Indian Mound site.
Liberty Free Will Baptist Homecoming Oct. 12
MANNING - Liberty Free Will Baptist Church, 2761 Liberty Church Road, will host Homecoming at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 12.
The Rev. Lanney Ard will be preaching with music by Gwen Ard.
The church will also be hosting a revival at 7 p.m. Oct. 13-15.

CCFR Community Safety Day Oct. 25 at J.C. Britton Park
MANNING - Clarendon County Fire Rescue is sponsoring its annual Community Safety Day from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at J.C. Britton Park, 3057 Raccoon Road.
Join CCFR for fun, food, candy and live demonstrations. It's a trunk-or-treat event.
Everyone is invited for three hours of family fun.
East Clarendon Middle/High hosts Fall Festival
TURBEVILLE - East Clarendon Middle/High School is hosting its Fall Festival from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, at Shad Hall Field.
The festival will feature dancing, music and much more.

Fifth-Annual Summerton Trunk or Treat on Oct. 30
SUMMERTON - The Lighthouse Foundation of SC and Summerton Community Partners will present the Fifth-Annual Summerton Trunk-or-Treat at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, in Summerton.
Sponsored by Community Partners and Friends of the Lighthouse, the Trunk-or-Treat will feature music, vendors, food trucks and giveaways.

Liberty Free Will Baptist Church holds fundraiser
MANNING - Liberty Free Will Baptist Church is hosting a fundraiser to raise money to build a playground at the church.
The fundraiser is a raffle to win a 12-gauge CZ-USA Over and Under Shotgun. Tickets are $10 each. The drawing for the winner will be on Saturday, Nov. 15, and the winner does not need to be present to win.

SUMMERTON - Silver Lodge No. 35, PHA and Silver Leaf Chapter 333, O.E.S. will present it's 134th Anniversary Celebration at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Historic Liberty Hill AME Church, 2310 Liberty Hill Road.
The guest speaker will be attorney L. Renee Gaters. The Sisters of Praize gospel group will be singing.

MJHS starts a Clothing and Care Closet
MANNING - Manning Junior High School, 1101 W.L. Hamilton Road, is starting a Clothing and Care Closet for its middle-school scholars.
Some of the items needed include gently used pants, shirts, socks, new undergarments, feminine hygiene products, shoes, coats, deodorant, body sprays, hair ties, belts, school supplies, clothing racks, storage containers and more.
