CLARENDON COUNTY – A hoax had been circulating around Clarendon County about a man driving a white truck targeting cars driven by women.
According to the hoax, a man driving a white truck with LED lights will hit a car driven by a woman and then kidnaps the woman. According to the hoax, there have been several disappearances.
While alerting the women to a possible danger, the hoax also encourages women that if they’ve been hit by the truck to not pull over, but to call law enforcement.
“No. There is no truth,” Clarendon County Sheriff Tim Baxley said Friday morning.
Before passing on rumors, citizens are encouraged to contact their local law enforcement agencies to find out if there is any merit to the situation.
