MANNING - Two Clarendon County men were arrested March 7 on charges of burglary and grand larceny, according to Clarendon County Sheriff Tim Baxley.

Andrew Thomas Scurry, 37, and Brent Wittner, 21, were taken to the Clarendon County Detention Center and were awaiting a bond hearing late Friday afternoon.

"These arrests have led to additional leads to at least two other crimes at this time," Baxley added. "Additional charges may be pending."

Baxley said the break-in occurred in the late evening hours of Feb. 19; however, the break-in wasn't discovered until Feb. 20 when the owner of the vehicle shop on S.C. 260 arrived at the location and noticed a broken window and a rear garage door opened halfway.

The owner told investigators that miscellaneous items valued at more than $20,000 were stolen during the break-in.

Baxley said an ongoing investigation by the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office into the break-in led to the identity of the two suspects. He said once the two men were identified, warrants were obtained and they were arrested.

"Many of the stolen items from the incident that occurred on Feb. 19, 2019, have been recovered," Baxley said.
