Think Pink Gospel Extravaganza is Saturday at Weldon Auditorium

MANNING - Clarendon County Cancer OverComers and Clarendon County Sheriff's Office are hosting the 6th-Annual Think Pink Gospel Extravaganza at 5 p.m. March 2 at Weldon Auditorium, 7 Maple St. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance by calling CCSO Deputy First Class Annett Smith at (803) 460-3976 or by dropping by Weldon Auditorium. Tyrone Cummings will be the master of ceremonies.

Seventeen artists and groups will be featured, including Ernest Pearson and The Singing Disciples, Generation for Christ, TC and the Smith Brothers, Billy Bradley and Heart of Worship, The Gospel Jubilees of Sumter, Church on Wheels, Cindy Ward, Green Hill Missionary Baptist Church Mass Choir, Sisters of Faith, CCSO DFCs Latisha Billie-Geter and Shante Demary, Sons of Faith, Dondre Joyner, Craig and Matthew Varn, Fresh Fire Christian Life Center Mass Choir, the Rev. Richard Niles and The Spiritual Tones and S.C. Gospel Express Minister Hammett. Net proceeds from the event will benefit OverComers, Camp Happy Days and Camp Kemo.

Clarendon Hall Annual Farm Auction starts at 9 a.m. Saturday at school

SUMMERTON - Clarendon Hall will hold its annual Farm Auction at 9 a.m. March 2 in the parking lot adjacent to the school, 1140 S. Dukes St. A variety of farm equipment will be on the auction block.

Don't miss Star Wars event from noon to 4 p.m. at 501st Legion

SUMMERTON -The Force will be with the Town of Summerton from noon to 4 p.m. March 2 when Star Wars fans of all ages come together to welcome the 501st Legion.

The free event will feature Star Wars arts and crafts, creative activities, door prizes, face painting, light refreshments and selfies with a Stormtrooper. Costumes are optional but highly encouraged.

Church will host Taste of New Covenant on March 16

MANNING - New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2833 Alex Harvin Highway, is hosting its annual Taste of New Covenant from 5-7 p.m. March 16. Tickets are $15 per person, and children ages 6 and under can eat free.

Cancer OverComers Walk will be May 4 at J.C. Britton Park

MANNING - The 1st Clarendon County Cancer OverComers Walk will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at J.C. Britton Park, 3057 Raccoon Road.

The event is being presented by the Clarendon County Cancer OverComers and the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office. The event will feature an OverComers' Walk, a luminary celebration and lots of free food, fun, games and music.

Let's Walk Together T-shirts will be on sale beginning in March featuring sizes youth through XXXXL. Youth sizes through adult size XL will cost $15 with larger sizes costing slightly more.

Sponsorship signs for placement around the track are available for $100 each, and luminaries are available for $10. Corporate sponsorships for the back of the walk and OverComers' T-shirts are available.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to Clarendon County Community Complex, 10 Maple St., behind Weldon Auditorium.

Second Chance Animal Shelter Lasagna Dinner on Saturday night

MANNING - A Second Chance Animal Shelter Annual Lasagna Dinner by Chef Ted and Silent Auction will be held at 6 p.m. March 2 at Fellowship Hall, Manning United Methodist Church, 17 E. Rigby St.

Dancing Monarch Stars benefit is March 16

MANNING - Support Manning High School athletics and cheer for your favorite star athletes at 2 p.m. March 16 at Weldon Auditorium.

Tickets are $15, and advance ticket sales are available from participating Manning student professional and athlete dancers. All ticket sales will determine the People's Choice Trophy winner.

Striped Bass Festival is on April 26, 27

MANNING - The 40th-annual Striped Bass Festival will hold its opening ceremonies on April 26 followed by Super Saturday on April 27.

The Miss Striped Bass Festival Pageant will be held on March 30, and the Santee Cooper Open Team Tournament presented by Santee Automotive is planned for April 20.
