MANNING - The Clarendon County Junior Golf program is raising money for its youth golf program through donations of $20 for a set of M2 TaylorMade graphic shaft irons, 4-iron through gap wedge. Paw Howl-O-Ween 5K and Family Fun Run

SUMMERTON - For the Love of a Paw, a nonprofit animal rescue organization in Elloree, has partnered with Santee Hardware and Santee Cooper Resort & Country Club to host a new 5K race and kids' run to race funds and awareness of the need to manage the domestic animal population in Orangeburg and Calhoun counties.

eWaste Recycling being offered on Saturday

MANNING - Is your electronic waste piling up? Clarendon County is offering its eWaste Recycling Program from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Administration Building parking lot, 411 Sunset Drive. "Shred-with-Us" will also be on site to shred your documents free of charge. No plastic or newspaper for shredding.

The program is accepting TVs with screens intact only, monitors, video display devices, intact computers, CPUs, keyboards, mice, printers, CD/DVD players, game consoles, small handheld electronics, cellphones, stereo tuners, radios, speakers, microwaves and vacuum cleaners. Clarendon Gas collects military care packages

MANNING - Clarendon Gas is asking the community to support service men and women deployed overseas by providing care packages packed with essentials, including laundry detergent pods, fabric refresher, breath strips/mints, chewing gum, hard candy, shampoo, deodorant/antiperspirant, body wash, soap, shaving cream, toothpaste, floss, power/protein bars, granola bars, energy bars, cereal bars, powdered drink mixes, plastic utensils, playing cards, Frisbees, footballs, notebook paper, envelopes, pens, postage stamps and many more ideas.

Buy tickets for gun giveaway in December

MANNING - The Clarendon County Junior Chamber of Commerce's annual gun giveaway fundraiser is underway. Twenty-three guns including handguns, shotguns and rifles and one gun safe will be given away during December.

Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce, Gibbons & Company CPA or from any Junior Chamber members. All the proceeds from the fundraiser will be invested into the Junior Chamber's Clarendon County projects.

VFW annual Poppy Sale is coming up

Lake Marion VFW Post 11078 of Summerton will hold its annual Poppy Sale on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9-10, at the Manning Walmart. Proceeds will be used for the general fund and charities supported by the VFW. All donations are appreciated.

VFW Post 11078 meets on third Tuesdays

Lake Marion VFW Post 11078, Summerton, meets the third Tuesday of each month at One Duke St., Summerton (behind First Citizens Bank).
