Claude Rabon Jr., 69, died on Monday, May 27, 2019, at his home.

Born on June 16, 1949, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Claude Rabon Sr. and Mable McLeod Rabon. Mr. Rabon was a member of Ashwood Baptist Church and the Sumter Cruisers Car Club. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Rabon retired from DuPont after more than 30 years of service.

Survivors include his son, Jonathan Rabon and his wife, Brandi, of Goose Creek; three grandchildren, Rebecca Rabon, Justin Rabon and Jacob Rabon; one great-grandson, Aiden Yomtob; three brothers, Wayne Rabon (Kay), Johnny Rabon (Debbie) and Robert Rabon (Becky), all of Ashwood; one sister, Kathy Womble of Ashwood; his former wife, Bronwyn Rabon of Sumter; and former daughter-in-law, Crystal Rabon of Sumter.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Leona Adams and Marie Hebert.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Boykin and the Rev. Greg Harvell officiating. Burial will be at Ashwood Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Bronwyn Rabon, 907 Lamorak St., and the home of Crystal Rabon, 215 Freedom Blvd.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sumter Cruisers Car Club, 1206 Shoreland Drive, Sumter, SC 29154.
