CLIFTON LEE MCLEOD

Clifton Lee "Cliff" McLeod, 66, husband of the late Linda Lee Downey McLeod, died on Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.

Born on April 28, 1953, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Lee and Katherine "Kitty" C. McLeod. He was a self-employed tax preparer and co-founded the Buddy Ball Baseball Program for handicapped children.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Templeton McLeod and James Lee McLeod, both of Sumter; a sister, Aggie Newman of Lexington; two brothers, Troy McLeod (Joni) of Mount Pleasant and Russ McLeod (Carolyn) of Calera, Alabama; five nieces; and two nephews.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel. Pastor Allen Jones officiated. Burial was at Lugoff Baptist Church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Wade Walton, Ted Crowley, Danny Patel, Andy Teague, Barry Boettcher and Chip McLeod.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
