Colleen Powell Stevens, 56, wife of R. Wayne Stevens, died on Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born on Sept. 27, 1964, in Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Alphonso Powell and Lena Mae Sullivan Powell. Mrs. Powell was an associate with SAFE Federal Credit Union, until her health declined. She previously worked with Wal-Mart and Belk stores. She was an avid Clemson Tigers and Dallas Cowboys fanatic. She also adored her dogs and cats.

Survivors in addition to her husband of 26 years include a brother, John Powell (Gloria) of Hope Mills, North Carolina; a special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Tammy Ray Stevens of Sumter; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marvin W. and Ernestina Stevens of Sumter; nieces and nephews, Alexis Powell, Ashley Campbell, Joseph Powell, Abagail Powell, Isiah Powell, Elijah Powell, Molly Jones, Kyndall Wiggins, Jarrett Stevens, Shane Stevens, Madison, Jaiden and Owen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brian Stevens; two sisters, Brenda Powell and Barbara Powell; and a brother, Marvin Powell.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
