Coronation of Mister and Miss Morris College set for Friday

Morris College will hold the Coronation of Miss Morris College, Aun'ye Wilson, and Mr. Morris College, Deangelo Adams, at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Garrick Boykin Human Development Center (gym), 300 W. College St.

Wilson is a senior criminal justice major from Mt. Pleasant. She joined Morris College in the fall of 2016 and has maintained well above a 3.0 GPA while also managing to balance social and civic engagement. During her freshman year, she was crowned Miss Freshman and voted president of the AMMA Residence Hall (all-female freshman residential hall). She later joined the Morris College Cheer Team and now serves as captain. She has held titles of Miss Co-Ed and Miss Homecoming and is a member of the Nu Gamma chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. After graduation, she plans to attend Charleston Southern University or North Carolina Central University School of Law, where she will pursue her credentials to become a real estate paralegal.

Adams, the second Mr. Morris College, is a graduate of West Florence High School and entered Morris in the fall of 2016 to study recreation. Adams serves in several organizations including the NAACP, Men of Morris, Student Ambassadors, Student Leaders, Men's Hornet Basketball Team, as well as the baseball and cross country teams.

He is a member of the Xi Epsilon chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. With plans to become a physical education teacher and basketball coach, Deangelo plans to attend Florida A&M University after graduation to pursue a Master's degree in Physical Education.
