The South Carolina Department of Education will host a free vaccine clinic in Clarendon County on Sunday.

Residents can receive the COVID-19 vaccine on Nov. 28 at Summerton Town Hall, 10 Main St., from 1-4 p.m.

Children ages 5 to 11 can receive their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, and those 12 years and older will be able to receive their first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Adults 18 years and older will be able to receive their first or second dose of the Moderna vaccine or the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Pfizer booster shots will also be available.

In partnership with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, the vaccination initiative In It To Win It was created to support local school districts, encourage vaccinations and provide information and resources to residents.

Only 60% of eligible Clarendon County residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, compared to 76% throughout the nation, according to DHEC.
