Crestwood takes down Lee Central 53-35

The Crestwood High School varsity girls basketball team defeated Lee Central 53-35 on Tuesday at The Castle in the return of head coach Tony Wilson to the Lady Knights' bench.

CHS led 28-13 at halftime. Ayannah Young led the Lady Knights with 11 points. Tashitana Farmer added 10, while Tajanique Johnson had eight and Dynasia Jackson and Ashanti Washington each had six.

Keionyah Dennis led Lee Central with 13 points. Kendra LeSane added seven points, while NiJeria Reddick had six points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals.

BISHOPVILLE - Rebecca Dinkins scored 29 points and just missed a triple-double in leading Robert E Lee Academy to a 70-21 victory over Williamsburg in its season opener on Tuesday at the REL gymnasium.

Dinkins also grabbed nine rebounds and handed out eight assists to go with six steals. Caleigh Barrett added 18 points, while Mallory Christmas had 13 points, five steals and four assists.

Lacie McElveen had six points, 12 rebounds and six steals.

Wilson Hall improved to 3-2 on the season with a 48-34 victory over Heathwood Hall on Tuesday at Nash Student Center.

Andi Grae Wingate led the Lady Barons with 16 points while pulling down six rebounds. Gracyn Coker had 11 points, Haley Roone McCaffrey had seven points, five assists, five rebounds and three steals, Madison Elmore had six points, five assists and three steals. Vivian Bryant had eight rebounds.

In Wilson Hall's 51-26 win over Carolina Academy on Monday, McCaffrey led the way with 10 points and five steals. Wingate had eight points and seven rebounds, while Bryant had six points and Elmore had five steals and three assists.

SANTEE - Manning High School outscored Lake Marion 24-14 in the third quarter to break open a close game and go on to a 66-43 victory in its season opener on Tuesday at the LMHS gymnasium.

The Lady Monarchs led just 10-6 after one quarter and 21-14 at halftime before exploding in the third quarter. They scored 45 points in the second half.

DALZELL - Thomas Sumter Academy defeated The King's Academy 43-23 on Tuesday at Edens Gymnasium to improve to 1-1.

Porter Laney led the Lady Generals in scoring with 13 points. Karleigh Young added 12 points while grabbing nine rebounds. Clara Burnette had eight points, Lindsay Daniel had five points and Lizzie Silvester had three steals and four assists.

On Monday in Winnsboro, TSA lost to Richard Winn 39-22. Daniel led Thomas Sumter with 10 points. Young added six points.

Heathwood Hall 13

Wilson Hall defeated Heathwood Hall 33-13 on Tuesday at Nash Student Center to improve to 2-0.

Mary Beth VanPatten led the Lady Barons with eight points. Aubrey Payne added six points.

BISHOPVILLE - Crestwood High School opened its season with a 30-17 win over Lee Central on Monday at the LCHS gymnasium.

Nia English led the Lady Knights with nine points.

Wilson Hall opened its season with a 29-12 victory over Heathwood Hall on Tuesday at Nash Student Center.

Olivia Beasley and Lucy Buxton both had six points to lead the Lady Barons. Caroline McElveen and Olivia Coswell had five apiece.
