Man accused of kicking, hitting woman after argument
Joseph Jackson, 38, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with second-degree domestic violence for allegedly pulling a woman's hair and dragging her to the ground after a verbal altercation on Four Bridges Road on Jan. 29.

Jackson is also accused of kicking the 31-year-old woman in the face and hitting her in the face with his foot while standing over her, according to a release from Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

Teen allegedly gives false information about sexual assault
Sarah E. McDearis, 17, was arrested Wednesday and charged with filing a false report of a felony after she reported an incident of criminal sexual conduct at a location on Pinewood Road on Feb. 5.

McDearis told law enforcement that a man raped her and took two of her children away, states a release from Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

She later admitted that she'd given false information to law enforcement during a visit to the sheriff's office on Wednesday.
