BREAKING INTO A MOTOR VEHICLE

Jeremy Ty Brinson, 22, of Holloway Street was arrested and charged on Sept. 19 with breaking into a motor vehicle, according to Adrienne Sarvis, public information officer with the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

Brinson reportedly broke into a vehicle parked in the 3900 block of McCrays Mill Road and stole a purse. He was captured on surveillance video and positively identified by law enforcement, according to a warrant.

He was transported to Sumter County Sheriff's Office Detention Center and was given a $5,000 personal recognizance bond.

GRAND LARCENY

Gerald Anthony Green Jr., 40, of Longleaf Drive was arrested and charged on Sept. 20 with grand larceny, value more than $2,000 but less than $10,000, according to Sarvis.

Green reportedly stole a locked and chained utility trailer valued at $3,500 from the 6200 block of Shetland Street on Sept. 20, according to a warrant. He reportedly acted with a co-defendant.

Because Green has two prior property crime convictions, his charge has been enhanced, meaning a possible longer sentence if convicted compared to a normal grand larceny charge.

He has been transported to Sumter County Sheriff's Office Detention Center. He was given a $10,000 surety bond.
