The Sumter County Sheriff's Office made the following arrests on July 10 and July 15 regarding a shoplifting and identity fraud incident.

JULY 10

The following subject was arrested on July 10 pursuant to a warrant issued on that same day.

Thomas Wilson, 55, of Jonathan Street, was charged with shoplifting at a value of $2,000 or less, said Deputy Adrienne Sarvis, public information officer for the sheriff's office.

A warrant claims Wilson took multiple items from a convenience store in the 1000 block of Manning Road on July 7. The items were valued at $166.63.

JULY 15

The following subject was arrested on July 15 pursuant to a warrant issued on July 7.

John Isaac Robinson, 54, of North Main Street, was charged with identity fraud, Sarvis said.

A warrant claims Robinson used a victim's identification information to avoid detection by law enforcement when officers responded to a wreck on Wise Drive near the U.S. 378 bypass bridge, where Robinson crashed into a ditch on June 8. When asked for his driver's license, Robinson reportedly presented the victim's license as his own.
