CCRD is offering tackle football for ages 7-9 and 10-12, flag football for ages 4-7, soccer for ages 5-6, 7-10 and 11-14, girls' volleyball for ages 5-8 and 9-12, and cheerleading for ages 7-9 and 10-12. Back to School Blast will be tonight
MANNING - Destiny Church, 12135 SC Highway 260 in Manning, is hosting a Back to School Blast from 3-6 p.m. today at the church. The free event will feature games, prizes, backpack giveaway, water slides, school supplies, hot dogs, George's Funnel Cakes and snow cones.
Historic Taw Caw MB Church hosts revival
SUMMERTON - Historic Taw Caw Missionary Baptist Church, 1130 Granby Lane in Summerton will host its annual revival at 7 p.m. July 29 through Aug. 3. Dr. William T. Johnson, pastor of the host church, will kick off the week's revival with a message at 8 a.m. July 29. At 7 p.m. July 29, Pastor Gregory J. Jackson of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Bishopville will be the guest speaker. Dr. Isaac J. Holt Jr. , pastor of Royal Missionary Baptist Church in North Charleston, will be the guest speaker July 30 through Aug. 3.
VVA Annual LZ 960 Benefit Run
MANNING - The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 960, in Manning is hosting a benefit run beginning at 11 a.m. on Aug. 4 at Lakevue Landing. The check-in will be held at 4 p.m. at Lakevue. The entry fee is $10 for all participants with cash prizes for the top three finishers. There will be six stops on the route, including Meare's Marine (formerly J & J Marina), Taw Caw Campground and Marina, Goat Island Bait & Tackle-Restaurant & Lounge, Polly's Landing Marina, Randolph's Landing and Lakevue Landing. Entry forms are available from any chapter member, any of the stops or by calling (803) 460-8551 or (803) 478-4300. Entry forms may be obtained after 9 a.m. the day of the event at Lakevue. Entry forms must have all six stamps to be eligible for the cash prizes. Participants without all six stamps will be eligible for door prizes and supper.
Master Gardeners Course
MANNING -- The Clemson Extension Service is hosting a South Carolina Master Gardener Program from 8 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday from Aug. 7 through Oct. 30 at the Clemson Extension Office, 21 W. Rigby St. in Manning. The course is being taught by Chase Smoak, a Clemson graduate in horticulture. Registration for the course is $300 per person and includes a copy of the South Carolina Master Gardener Training Manual. To register for the course, please call (803) 435-8429, extension 0.
National Night Out
MANNING - Clarendon County law enforcement agencies are hosting National Night Out from 6 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 7 at J.C. Britton Park, 3057 Raccoon Road in Manning. The countywide event focuses on "promoting neighborhood spirit and police-community partnership" as well as "Making Our Community
