Curtis Wilson, 54, was born on Feb. 19, 1966, in Bishopville, a son of Cornell Williams Wilson and the late Ernest Wilson. He departed this life on Monday, July 6, 2020, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

"Blue," as he was affectionately known, attended the public schools of Lee County. After school, he became an industrial worker in North and South Carolina for a total of 22 years and 10 years as a farm worker in South Carolina. Blue will be remembered for his own fashion style and dance moves.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Cornell Wilson of the home; four sisters, Ernestine Wilson of the home, Janie (Larry) Toney of Bishopville, Edna (Leroy) Carter of Elliott and Barbara (Gilbert) Henry of Lynchburg; one brother, Johnny (Vernika) Wilson of Mayesville; three aunts, Neola McLeod of Bishopville, Rosetta Williams of Elliott and Loretta Gamble of Sumter; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 396 Casual Branch Road, Bishopville.

Celebration of life services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter, with Apostle Herbert Henry officiating.

The procession will leave at 1:10 p.m. from the home.

Burial will be at Unionville AME Churchyard Cemetery, 1330 Swimming Pen Road, Mayesville.
