The Good Lord decided to take one of his angels home. Harvey Dale Coker Sr., 78, widower of Margie Rae Lassiter Coker, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at his home.

Born Jan. 7, 1939, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Harvey A. Coker and the late Jackie Oliver Coker. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and owned and operated ABC Window Cleaning for more than 50 years. Mr. Coker was also a member of the Sumter Cruisers. He was an avid NASCAR fan and longtime supporter of Sumter Speedway and driver of the #34 car.

He leaves behind three daughters and one son, Donna VanRas (the Rev. Victor), Carolyn Lamb (Steve), Debbie Stone, and Dale Coker Jr. (Dawn), all of Sumter; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Ms. Annie Dennis.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Coker and Tony Coker Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Victor VanRas officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
