DAN ROGERS JR.

Dan Rogers Jr., age 89, of Sumter, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Honorage Nursing Center in Florence.

He was preceded in death by parents, Dan Rogers Sr. and Letha H. Rogers.

Dan was born in 1929, in Society Hill. He graduated from Edmunds High School and later attended Bob Jones University. He also served several tours of duty in the Air Force, including the Korean War. Dan worked in a variety of occupations, including the Post Office and Sam Solomon Wholesale in Charleston but later spent his life in the family business with Rogers Radiator Works. He was known for his kind heart and love of family.

Dan is survived by two brothers, C.W. "Bill" Rogers of Sumter and L. Wayne Rogers (Jean M. Rogers) of Matthews, North Carolina; many nieces, nephews and other close relatives.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home in Sumter with a private interment later at the National Cemetery in Florence.
