Danny M. Plyler, 72, husband of Mona Rae Clark Cogdill Plyler, passed on to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 5, 2020, at his home surrounded by family.

Born on April 12, 1948, in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Millen Plyler and Mary Richardson Faulkenbury. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Plyler was a member of Temple Baptist Church and was a retired forklift technician.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Sheri Tremblay (Heath), Clint Plyler (April) and Lori Plyler; stepchildren, Clay Cogdill, Clint Cogdill (Tammy) and Laura Walker (Paul); nine grandchildren, Janie Cogdill, Anna Cogdill, Kelsey King, Cullen Rigby, Hunter Tremblay, Zachary Tremblay, Autumn Plyler, Courtney Plyler and Christopher Plyler; sister, Bonnie Beck (Joe); brother, Donnie Faulkenbury (Sissy); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Cogdill.

A private graveside service with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Brian Magaw officiating.

The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. Thursday at Temple Baptist Church and other times at the home.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
