BISHOPVILLE - Councilman David Addison, 75, husband of Betty Dizzley Addison, transitioned from Earth to his heavenly reward on Monday, Feb. 8, 2021, at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Newman, Georgia.

Born in Bishopville, David was a son of the late Henry and Mabel Melton Addison. He was a retired professional barber, a businessman, an Air Force veteran and was serving his sixth term as a county councilman for Lee County.

Councilman Addison is survived by his wife, Betty Dizzley Addison; children, Jawondolyn (Paul) McAllister, Lakisha (Travis) Bonner and David (Tonya) Addison; special cousin reared in the home as a daughter, Tosha Clyburn Colman; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven siblings; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the parking lot of Jamestown Road Church of God, 2671 Jamestown Road, Camden, with the Rev. Reginald Alford presiding and the Rev. Issac Cropp, officiant.
