David Carroll Driggers, 75, husband of Deborah Walters Driggers, died Saturday, July 6, 2019, at his home.

Born in Bennettsville, he was a son of the late Ralph Driggers and Clara Crowley Driggers.

Mr. Driggers was a member of Wedgefield Baptist Church and the Sumter Bassmasters Club. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in Vietnam and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was also a member of the DAV.

Surviving are his wife of Wedgefield; one son, David C. Driggers Jr. (Anna) of Sumter; two daughters, Maria Jackson and Carol Nesbitt (Dan), both of Sumter; one stepson, Robert Odom (Cherry) of Georgia; one stepdaughter, Rebecca Matthews of Sumter; two sisters, Kaye Woodberry (Randy) and Faye Funderburke (Bill), both of Bennettsville; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his mother-in-law, Mary Walters of Wedgefield.

He was predeceased by a great-grandchild, Lylah Driggers.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Wedgefield Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Goff officiating.

Burial will follow in the Wedgefield Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m Monday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home, 3880 S.C. 261 South, Wedgefield.
