David Wayne Floyd, 81, husband of the late Gwendolyn Barnes Floyd, died on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born on Nov. 18, 1939, in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, he was a son of the late William Clarence Floyd and Idella Minnie Goodwin Floyd. He was a member of Porter's Chapel Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 30 years of service and was a Vietnam War veteran. He also retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

Survivors include a daughter, Llawayne Reid (Barry) of Wedgefield; grandchildren, Jessica Nicole Reid, Caitlin Amanda Reid and Christopher Eugene Reid; and a brother, Bobby Allen Floyd (Joyce) of Santa Fe, Tennessee.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Pete B. Floyd; and several brothers and sisters.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
