Davis is devoted to Sumter, will have some new ideas

Posted

Good morning everyone!

After spending the last 30 years drinking coffee with much of Sumter while pretending to have a real job at Sumter Cut Rate, I have had the opportunity to not only observe, but to actually learn just what makes Sumter the place that we all call home.

With that in mind, I'd like to share my observations on one of Sumter's candidates for city council.

Colin Davis is devoted to Sumter.

Colin was born in Sumter and has lived in Sumter all of his life. Colin has a desire to contribute to our community, the community that has helped to support his family, by working to increase workplace education which is fundamental to Sumter's ability to not only retain current industry, but to recruit future investments.

Colin Davis is devoted to family.

Colin has been and remains a devoted husband, father, son and grandson. I am particularly impressed by the "no mean girls" policy that he and his wife, Tiffany, teach in their home. Simply put, they teach their daughters to treat everyone politely and respectfully.

Colin Davis understands the value of working for a cause.

Colin grew up in Sumter working at his grandfather's business. By age 14, he was cutting his hands removing wiper motors and crawling in the mud pulling starters. He will proudly show you the first scars! I don't know if Colin was born with a good work ethic, but I am positive that it didn't take Carroll Barnette too long to teach him the lessons that serve him today.

I think that Colin will be a great young (38) member of city council with some new ideas and enthusiasm for our community. I know that Colin is a good co-inhabitant of our planet and that he has not only my support, but my respect. Thank you all for taking the time to read, and to vote.
