DEBORAH GAIL HOBBS

Deborah Gail Hobbs, 66, died on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born on Feb. 9, 1954, in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Gene E. Hobbs Sr. and Dora Lou Cook Hobbs. She taught school for 25 years in South Carolina schools and for more than 10 years in Cleveland, Georgia.

Survivors include two sisters, Donna Tomlinson (Jimmy) of Conway and Lisa Hellams of Sumter; a brother, G.E. Hobbs Jr. (Connie) of Sumter; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Clay Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Hobbs Jr., 590 Pringle Drive.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Ave. North, Suite101, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
