SUMMERTON - Deborah Lannette Birdsall, 53, wife of Mark Birdsall, died on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, at McLeod Health Clarendon. She died on the same day her grandmother died 31 years ago.

Born on Nov. 2, 1965, in Manning, she was a daughter of the late Frank Patton Howard and Missouri Elizabeth Lee "Dot" Van Zandt. She worked at Lake Marion Nursing Facility as a licensed practical nurse and was extremely compassionate about her patients.

She is survived by her husband of St. Petersburg, Florida; a daughter, Akira L. Birdsall of St. Petersburg; a sister, Donna Jean Hartfield (Bobby) of Summerton; two brothers, Donald P. Howard (Paula) of Cornwall, New York, and Charles "Little" Van Zandt (April) of Clearwater, Florida; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and numerous cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Patton Howard Jr.; maternal grandmother, Annie Evangeline Mitchum; and maternal grandfather, Louis E. Lee.

A memorial dinner will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday at Williams-Burgess American Legion Post 68, 552 Sunset Drive, Manning.
