Former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick will make a campaign stop at Golden Corral for the Sumter County Democratic Party's monthly breakfast on Saturday morning, county party Chairwoman Barbara Bowman said Thursday.
Patrick was a two-term governor of Massachusetts from 2007 to 2015 and the state's first black governor. He entered the presidential race in November.
The monthly breakfast will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Golden Corral, 2385 Walmart Blvd., next to Walmart just off Broad Street. The breakfast will be in a room near the back of the restaurant.
Patrick will be the first speaker at the breakfast, Bowman said. Following Patrick, Jay Parmley, executive director of the state Democratic Party, will speak on what local party participants can look for this year.
