DEMRICK C. WALKER Jr.

Demrick Claus Walker Jr., 82, husband of Nancy Haskins Walker, died Monday, June 8, 2009, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born in Burke County, N.C., he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Demrick Claus Walker Sr. Mr. Walker was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired from the Lilly Co.

Surviving are his wife of Sumter; two sons, Ronnie Walker and wife, Carol, of Supply, N.C., and Tony Walker of Sumter; a daughter, Debra Harrington and husband, Michael, of Sumter; a brother, Larry Walker of Morganton, N.C.; a sister, Thelma Starr of Hickory, N.C.; and a grandson, Daniel Harrington.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Donnie Collins officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home, 1021 Robinhood Ave.
