Funeral services for Donald Ray McKnight, 68, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the chapel of Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home. The Rev. Joey Durham will officiate with burial to follow at Piedmont Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 6437 Garners Ferry Road, Suite 1129, Columbia, SC 29209.

Mr. McKnight entered into rest on Saturday, March 16, 2019.

Born in Lee County, he was a son of James William and Mary Ann Yarbrough McKnight. He served in the United States Army for eight years and served during the Vietnam War. He was a retired truck driver and welder.

Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Brenda L. McKnight of Bishopville; sons, Donald Eric (Colleen) McKnight of Effingham and Joseph Daniel (Jennifer) McKnight of Bishopville; stepsons, Ronald Stephens of Sumter and Donald Ray "Tiger" Stephens of Alcolu; stepdaughter, Virginia Plenge of Columbia; brothers, James Allen (Catharine) McKnight of Bishopville, Cary Grant (Jane) McKnight of Sumter and Larry (Debbie) McKnight of Bishopville; sister, Janet Nichols of Bishopville; grandchildren, Matthew Mullen, Christopher McKnight, Tyler McKnight, Ronnie Stephens Jr., Britney Gedding, Courtney Stephens, Jessika Stephens, Arron Plenge and Abigail (Cameron) Contreraz; and three great-grandchildren.
