BISHOPVILLE - Funeral services for Donald Ray Melton, 88, who entered into rest on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in First Baptist Church of Bishopville. The Rev. Todd Latham will officiate. Burial will follow at Piedmont Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall.

Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home is caring for the family.

Born in Darlington County, he was a son of the late Mack A. and Hilda Johnson Melton. He was an active and devoted member of First Baptist Church. He worked in the food retailing industry for many years and retired as the owner-operator of Piggly Wiggly in Bishopville. He was a veteran and served his country for four years in the United States Navy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 wonderful years, Jeanette Turner Melton; brother, William R. Melton of Bishopville; a number of nieces and nephews.
