DORIS DEAS JONES
Doris Deas Jones, 88, loving wife of 69 years to Calvin M. Jones, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at her home.
Born on May 24, 1932, in Lee County, she was the youngest child of nine to the late Johnnie and Mamie Hall Deas. She was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 23 years of service.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Dale Jones and Dean Jones (Arlene); a granddaughter, Dallen Charles (Thomas); five sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her adopted children, Freddie McKellar, Bobby Griffith and Archie Coker.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Darla Jones.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Concord Presbyterian Church cemetery, 3350 E. Brewington Road, with the Rev. Paul Merrill officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside and other times at the home, 2485 Florence Highway.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Prisma Health Tuomey, Kindred Health and Tuomey Hospice for all of their loving care and compassion. They would like to extend a very special thank you to Alberta Caples, Helen Pringle and Daisy Glolver for all the loving care they provided to Mrs. Jones.
