Dorothy "Mama" Bolden entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 1, 2020, at her home in Rembert.

She was born on April 22, 1939, in Sumter County, to the late Brownie and James Sanders Sr. At an early age, she accepted Christ and became a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and later married Harrison "Smokey" Bolden.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two sons, Harrison (Doretha) of Wedgefield and Gregory (Pansy) of Rembert; three daughters, Katie (Daniel) Tate of Sumter, and Constance McCoy and Valarie (Willie) Sanders, both of Rembert; three sisters, Rosa Lee Pollard of Rembert, Carrie Lee (James) Edwards of Augusta, Georgia, and Katherine S. Murphy of Columbia; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; 10 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family is requesting no visitation at the home.

Viewing with visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter, with the Rev. Anthony Taylor, pastor of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, officiating, eulogist.

Burial will be at the Hopewell Baptist Churchyard Cemetery, 3285 Peach Orchard Road, Dalzell.
