DR. GLENDA RUTH GUILLIAMS

Dr. Glenda Ruth Guilliams passed away gently on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020.

Born on Sept. 2, 1938, in Coshocton, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Edwin Charles Guilliams and Ruth Lucile Lapp Guilliams. Reared on a farm, she developed a lifelong appreciation of hard work and an abiding love of animals. She could entertain friends for hours with tales of farm life and the ironies of the human condition. She followed an academic career, receiving a Bachelor of Arts from Otterbein College, a Master of Science from Ohio University and Doctor of Philosophy from Ohio State University. As an exercise physiologist, she taught and coached for 50 years at several schools, including the University of California, Santa Barbara, Kentucky State University and Morris College. A highlight of her career was training teams for national competitions and Olympic trials. She took a deep interest in her students and kept in touch with many over the years.

Surviving are her sister, Marilyn G. Reiman; and a nephew, Preston Reiman of Coshocton.
