Delta Dawn DuRant and Kellen Richard Tompkins, both of Sumter, were united in marriage at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at Shudwe Farm in Sumter.

The bride is the daughter of Ms. Debbie Bramlett DuRant of Sumter and Dr. Eddie C. Durant Jr. of Wedgefield and the granddaughter of Dr. Eddie C. Durant Sr. of Sumter and the late Mrs. Gloria Bell DuRant and Mr. Henry Luke Bramlett Sr. of Murrells Inlet and the late Mrs. Elma Bramlett. She graduated from Sumter High School, Central Carolina Nursing School with an associate degree and Capella University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is employed by Prisma Health-Midlands.

The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Brenda Morrison of Greenville and Mr. Richard Tompkins of Sumter and the grandson of Mrs. Joyce Tompkins and the late Mr. Richard Tompkins Sr. of Calais, Maine, and the late Mr. and Mrs. John McArthur of Baileyville, Maine. He graduated from Blythewood High School and Central Carolina Technical College with an Associate Degree in Natural Resource Management. He is employed by FedEx.

The Rev. Jody P. Foster officiated at the ceremony.

Music was provided by Thomas Ross, saxophonist.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a classic elegant 1950's-style gown. She carried a unique cascading assortment of pheasant, turkey and peacock feathers accented with Queen Anne's lace and blue hydrangeas.

Dixie Gloriabell DuRant served as maid of honor, with Dana DuRant Ferguson as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Weathersbee, Kristian Pritchard, Sara Tompkins, Rachel Tompkins, Tiffany Caldwell, Megan Ray, Katie Stafford, Amanda Parks, Riley Hyder and Mackenzie Hyder. Vayda Lynn Jenkins served as flower girl.

The bridegroom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Kyle Tompkins, Matt King, Travis Lamb, Stephen Stafford, Trey Steele, Catlin Craven, Brandon Brown, Kenny McLeod and Tommy Hendrix. Lukas Ferguson served as ring bearer.

Also participating were Meghan Chandler, Katelyn Barwick and Stephanie Jackson, honorary bridesmaids.

The bride's parents and numerous friends held the reception at Shudwe Farms.

The rehearsal party was given by the bridegroom's parents at Shudwe Farms.

Following a wedding trip to Southern Outdoors Wildlife Plantation in Union Springs, Alabama, the couple will reside in Sumter.
