Ed Advil "Mr. Ed" Davis, 93, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at Covenant Place.

Born on March 5, 1928, in Sumter, he was a son of the late James Advil "Buck" Davis and Edna Hughes Davis. He was a lifelong member of Sumter First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and elder. "Mr. Ed" was a master machinist and co-owner of Industrial Electric and Rewinding. He was a Mason and founded the Edna Hughes Davis Scholarship Fund in honor of his mother. "Mr. Ed" was loved by everyone who knew him.

Survivors include his business partner, Laurie Brown (Carol) and Laurie's sister, Beth Cuttino, who considered him part of their family; as well as numerous cousins in the Neeses area.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Bob Calvert officiating.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
