EDITH HARDY

MANNING -- Edith Lorraine Barwick Hardy, 84, wife of George Hubert Hardy Sr. for 66 years, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at her home.

Born July 10, 1925, in Manning, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Levi and Alice Logan Barwick. She was a graduate of Manning High School. She faithfully attended Grace Christian Fellowship Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Hardy loved to work and plant flowers in her garden. She was a matriarch of the family, a loving mother, grandmother and wife.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Costello (Glenn) and Faye Johnson (Yogi); two sons, George Hardy (Joyce) and Nick Hardy (Janice), all of Manning; eight grandchildren, Stoney Costello, Chad Costello (Darlene), Lori Johnson (Andy), Heather Goff (Andy), Lannie Ott (Andy), Rachel Lowder (Jack), Andrea Harrington (Justin) and Burt Hardy (Shannon); and 14 great-grandchildren, Caleb, John Robert, Anna, Sandy, Sadie, Avery, Micah, Emme, Gracie, Austin, Sarah, Maggie, Hannah, and Jenna Foster.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Grace Christian Fellowship Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Michael E. Murdoch, the Rev. Mark Evans and the Rev. Chad Costello. Burial will be in the Brewington Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Stoney Costello, Chad Costello, Burt Hardy, Andy Johnson, Andy Goff, Andy Ott, Jack Lowder and Justin Harrington.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Brunson Funeral Home.
