Edith McKnight Robinson, better known as "Wink," was born on Feb. 23, 1941, in Lee County to Galathin Rembert Hull. She peacefully departed this life on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019, at Prisma Health Tuomey in Sumter to enter her spiritual rest.

She was educated in the public school system of Lee and Sumter counties and Fort Pierce, Florida. After graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School, she attended Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, New York, and later obtained her CNA license. After retirement as a union representative and a voting poll manager, she volunteered as a secretary for Rosetta Senior Center in Brooklyn.

Edith's Christian journey began at an early age at St. Mark AME Church. She then became a member of Goodwill Pentecostal Church. After returning to Sumter, she joined Royal Priesthood Ministries.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory: one son, Simeon McKnight-Felder of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; a great-grandson, Aiden Worrell of Brooklyn; siblings, Vertell Williams of Montgomery, Alabama, Libby A. (Chester) Owens of Sumter, Frederick (Naomi) Hull of Brooklyn, Albert Hull of Sumter and Louetta (Willie "Robert") Earp-Cabbagestalk of Sumter; a special friend, Mary McNeal, of Brooklyn; a special care attendant, Tina Westberry, of Dalzell; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her mother, Edith, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Robinson; grandson, Jarell Dequan Worrell; sister, Carolyn Miller; brother-in-law, Eugene Williams; and nephews, Marion Johnson and Gregory Williams.

Public viewing will be held today from 2 to 6 p.m. at Job's Mortuary.

Mrs. Robinson will be placed in the church on Saturday at 10 a.m. for viewing until the hour of service.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave., Sumter, SC 29150, with Pastor Alfreda Johnson officiating and the Rev. Mary Jane Ragin, eulogist.

Interment will follow in White's Cemetery.

Family will receive friends at the home, 210 Carver St., Sumter, SC 29150.

Job's Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., is in charge of arrangements.
