EDWARD BODE

Edward Bode, 92, husband of Helen Marie Sommers Bode, died on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

Born in Hoboken, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Edward and Elizabeth Spiegelhalter Bode. Mr. Bode was a retired supervisor with Becton-Dickinson. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife of Sumter; a brother, William Bode of Sumter; and two great-grandchildren, Peter Elkovich and Tiffany Elkovich.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Helen Elkovich; and a son, Edward Thomas Bode.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
