ELEANOR JEAN CALLEN

LEXINGTON - Eleanor Jean Callen, 80, of Lexington, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021.

She was born in Sumter to the late Sam and Ruth Geddings. Jean was a strong woman who gave up everything to raise and love on her family. She was a great seamstress, and each year her girls got a new Easter dress homemade with love. Jean also loved a big poofy hair-do.

She is survived by her daughter, Betsy "Dennis" Avant; her son, Glenn Callen; her granddaughter, Heather "Chris" Martin; along with four other grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by her spouse, Gene Callen; her son, Mitch Callen; her grandson, Guy Avant; her brother, Wayne Geddings; and her sisters, Virginia Farr and Elaine Neese.

Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.
