ELIJAH PEARSON

Elijah Pearson, 77, husband of Barbara Pearson, departed this earthly life on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019.

Born on Feb. 8, 1941, in Sumter County, he was a son of Marion Pearson Sr. and Emma Pearson. He was educated in the public school system of Sumter County and graduated from Lincoln High School.

He was employed with Coca Cola Bottling Co. for 20 years. Later, he worked for Sumter Woods and did various odds and ends jobs.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Barbara Pearson; three daughters, Pamela (Eric) Jones, Jacqulyn (Steven) Blair and Patricia Moore; two brothers, Aaron (Irene) Pearson and Thomas (Mary) Pearson; two sisters, Mary and Martha Pearson; one brother-in-law, Lawrence Franklin; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the home, 265 Poulas St., Sumter.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., Sumter, with Minister Julia Hayes officiating.

The funeral procession will leave at 12:20 p.m. from the home.
