ELIZABETH CALDERON ERTER

Elizabeth Calderon Erter, 96, widow of Jack W. Erter Sr., died on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at Covenant Place.

Born on Dec. 5, 1925, in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of the late Susano Calderon and Luz Maria Carballo Calderon. She was a retired civil servant, having been employed at the Shaw Air Force Base Civil Engineering Squadron, followed by a lengthy employment at the base chapel.

Survivors include a daughter, Dr. Sandra E. Gogan (Ray) of Indialantic, Florida; a son, Jack W. Erter Jr. (Mary Anne) of Sumter; daughter-in-law and faithful caregiver, Atchura Erter of Sumter; grandson, Michael Erter (Sarah) of Portland, Oregon; grandson, Bart D. Loeb of South Bend, Indiana; granddaughter, Dr. Carolina E. Burns (Geoff) of Newton, Massachusetts; and grandson, Dr. Jack W. Erter III (Noelle) of Nashville, Tennessee; along with seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by a son, Ronald Ray Erter; and by her six siblings, Raul, Lucy, Emma, Julio, Jorje and Maria Louisa.

A private burial will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery.
