ELSIE M. CRAWFORD

Elsie M. Crawford, 86, beloved wife of the late Ronald H. Crawford Sr., entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018.

Born and raised in Turbeville, she was a daughter of the late Archie LeRoy McElveen and Pearl Hicks McElveen. Elsie was the oldest of seven children. She had six brothers, four sons and a husband, all who she spent her life keeping straight. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, daughter, and her proudest title, "Grandma." She retired from Santee Print Works and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald H. Crawford Jr. (Glenda) of Greer, and Brian Keith Crawford and Christopher Marshall Crawford, both of Sumter; grandchildren, Camille Angeline Knezevich, Ashley Elizabeth Pfountz, Allison Elaine Felder, Brian Keith Crawford Jr. and Madison Kristin Crawford; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Barry Wayne McElveen of Columbia.

She was preceded in death by a son, Emory Douglas Crawford; and two grandchildren, Rory Christopher Crawford Sr. and Christina Gabrielle Crawford.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Olanta Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Stuart Mizelle and the Rev. Andrew Basham officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon on Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Camille, Brian, Madison, Carol Crawford, RN, and Rose Price for their unwavering love and support during this time of illness. They would also like to thank Dr. Jeffery Smith and staff, as well as the staff of Amedisys Hospice for all of their care and compassion.
