Eric Terrell Gamble, 47, died on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, in Columbia.

Born on Aug. 18, 1974, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Eugene and Wyline Monroe Gamble. Eric was a graduate of Mayewood High School and attended Morris College. He worked in Charlotte, North Carolina, Sumter and several other cities during his search for fulfillment. Eric attended Hickory Grove Baptist Church, where he was an active member during his youth. He enjoyed conversation, laughing and telling jokes. He loved cooking and was a self-proclaimed foodie.

Those continuing to share his memories are his daughter, Erionna Gamble of Sumter; five sons, Malcom McDowell of Columbia, Eric Gamble Jr., Eugene Gamble, Eziah Green and Emontay Gamble, all of Sumter; a brother, Wilbert E. (Sharon Spann) Gamble of Charlotte; two sisters, Alfreda (Mark) Porter-Ousley of Sumter, and Angela (Ronnie) Baxter of Valdosta, Georgia; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Salem Chapel & Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave., Sumter, SC 29150. In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed.

Job's Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., Sumter, is in charge of arrangements.
