On Oct. 8, 1950, she was united in holy matrimony to James Edward Johnson Sr. To this union, nine children were born.

She also served as treasurer of the senior missionary and member of the usher board and bylaws committee, until her death.

She was employed at Big A department store and then retired from Shawview Cleaners after working for more than 30 years as a master seamstress. Her passion was working in her yard, her flower garden and singing.
